I recently purchased a 2001 GTI 3-seater with the rotax engine. I had the jet ski serviced and paid about 500 bucks for my jet ski to not run right. I know how most of the time, after reviewing topics you will find the answer. The carbs were rebuilt, oil and fuel drained prior to season and spark plugs changed out, so a basic tune up.

My problem is when I go to start it, after about 10 minutes of run time, it has a hard time starting. I have not changed the filter or the infamous gray lines, so that will be up next. Why would it have a hard time starting after a few minutes of starting and running fine? I first thought it could be because of our hot temp, and possible vapor lock. It is difinately a few delivery problem, but once I change the filter and lines, I can know more. Where can I buy the filter? Do I have to cut the length and couplers, just as the grey line is? It seems easier to just do without the couplers. I did notice that when I switched to the reserve it would help some, so maybe a dirty selector.

I just firgured that when I dropped off my jet ski, the shop wouldve trouble shooted any problems. When I took it back for a second time, they told me they had the lines swapped, so it wasnt feeding fuel properly, so I now know not to take it to them to mess up my ski...

Second question I have is, can I use Yamaha Yamalube 2W two-stroke oil? I noticed that the oil it has now is dark, and the yamaha oil is purple. Different color and brand, so I figured I would ask before ruining something. My other jet ski is a yamaha. Thanks and sorry for the first long post.
