2000 RX 951 carbed keeps popping 15 amp fuse

As the title says keeps popping 15 amp fuse as soon as you connect the battery.
If I pull the plug out of the magneto it will crank over but not start 2 beeps gauges all come up but plug the magneto in and it pops the 15 amp fuse either in the front or in the e box.

With the plug connected it pops the 15 amp fuse and will not crank, correct?
With the plug disconnected it will turn over but not start, correct?

If so, sounds like the magneto is bad. Probably got water in it and shorted it out.

Exactly correct.no key on and pops a fuse,disconnect the plug put the key on and it turns over

I tend to agree. You can test it to see if it is grounded. Or, open it up. I bet you find metal shavings and it was wet.

The three yellow wires should ohm 0 to 0.1 (infinity) between them. If you get an ohm reading then the stator is grounding between the insulated coils and will need to be replaced.

I would plug it in and test between the three wires by sticking your ohm meter probes in the back of the plug, or if you have a spare plug laying around use it.

You guys were right,the stator is fried but it's nice and dry and clean in behind the cover.
