2000 GTX head pipe concern

Silly question, but I'm wondering if I need to get a new head pipe. Disassembled pipe last year at the halves to do other repairs. Not sure how or when, but there is now a small chip on the outside of the lip that seals against the copper ring. May have been before removal or I may have hit it on something on removal. No leaks before removal. Will this chip cause it to leak? Is this something that the sealant will fill in and take care of, since it's not all the way through? Or is this going to be a cool new ramp and tunnel for my 2 yr old and his racecars? Just zoomed in on the pics I posted and noticed the hack marks from my razorblade. Did I butcher this thing beyond use?

ultra copper will fill that

I would use some JB weld to build it back and sand it to shape then Ultra Copper per factory specs.

I've seen worse used just fine.
