im helping a friend put a new top end in he nicked a rave last year on the mag side its a nice sbt platinum motor 1mm over bore can u bore further or should we resleave it back to factory. also his raves were adjusted all the way in tight is that normal could it be the cause of its demise

The adjustment of the red cap would not cause the rave to hit. The slide needs to be shaved to fit the new bore. This was an SBT motor that nicked? Is it under warranty?

Long live the 2 stroke Seadoo!

3 0r 4 years old the slide u mean the rave slider? so we would be safe getting a 1.25mm topend kit and the machine shop to bore her out. can the rave hit the piston with out breaking ther is def a mark on the rave. he said it just lost power dint seize or any thing. ill post a pick of the piston when I get a chance to take a pic of it

83.5 is max on bore .. whatever you are over the factory size bore of 82 mm, you take half of that of rave valve -- the fork -- example, say you are at max, 83.5 that is 1.5 over, then you take of .8 mm, or i would take off 1 mm to be safe, i set my raves even with a nickle laying in the cap, same on water valve, works for me ....

thanks for the help ill have to inspect the rave see if it was shaved for the 1mm over pistons im sure it was dealer installed the last time.

is that the factory setting the the rfi? i know the factory setting on the carbed
ones are flush. i want to go factory and the go from there is why i'm asking. thanks.

no, its just down the thickness of a nickle ... just works good on mine, i played around with mine after break in ... my raves seemed to "kick in" hard so now they just operate smoother i guess ... lol ... not much noticed really .... just tinker around sometimes

here some pics of the piston that went any ideas why also bozo said that it started giving him 12v low light he put new battery in it same thing then the bastard blew a cylinder would that have any relation with each other. rectifier prob need to be changed for 12v low? i put a pic of his garage I was helping him with his walls getting ready to bring the rest of the machine in View attachment 23832View attachment 23833
