2000 - 2002 Speedster 16 foot

Perhaps someone out there can give me an informed opinion. I am selling my '98 Sportster 1800 and am looking at buying a 2000 16ft Speedster with a 240 M2 Merc. My brother-in-law, a former dealer, said that it wasn't a very good handling boat, describing it as "darty" and bad in waves. Anybody out there with a different opinion. The boat I'm looking at is in good shape otherwise with low hours. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The hull is the same as my 98, just a different engine. I dontknow how much that matters, but this thing handles like a sports car.
