2 stroke XPS-II Expires?

This thread was about if XPS oil expires or not.

Maybe you can make a new thread if you want to keep trying to get buyers for Mystik?

It seems like every oil thread here is turning into "Mystik is better, buy it"....

Actually the thread was answered in the first couple of posts. So it sounds like you just want to beat a dead horse?

The only reason I keep bringing up Mystik is because there are ALOT of misinformed people that have been lied to by the dealers and programed to only buy XPS.

I'm not saying XPS isn't great all, because it is. But it's definitly not any better then the hand full of other API-TC rated oils out there that can be had much cheaper. Mystik is only in the front of the pack because of it's extremely low price.

It's just like the old-age 3000 mile oil change, dealers and oil change places still push the 3000 mile oil change, yet most new cars have oil life systems which will tell you when it's time to change the oil based on driving conditions monitored by the computer and most of the time it doesn't require an oil change for 5,000-7,000 miles!

Yet some people will still change the oil every 3,000 miles throwing millions of dollars a year away and wasting oil for no good reason. But the'll justify it to themself with something like "Well my engine will last longer!" Nope, you will just spend thousands of dollars more on oil changes!

America is a very wastefull country, if people wern't misinformed by marketing/commercials/dealers, etc maybe we would all be better off.. But it seems that in today's world it's okay to misinform people as long as it makes you rich.

There is a massive SKI-DOO dealer north of me, every year before snowmobile season they sell the BRP Mineral and Synthetic at cost to open the snowmobile season $22 for 4L (big dirty party too!) Same stuff that goes into our boats. They have one of those 30ft trailers full of the stuff. I was up there not too long ago to get parts for my boat and they still had about 10 cases left over from last year. I took two of them and the brp tech explained to me that if it expired it would be printed on the jug. Just information from a trusted source so I figured I add to post.

That's awesome. For that price, I'd buy enough to last me all year and go back each year and do the same. I wish more dealers did that. Too bad most dealers are out for the quick buck instead of promoting the sport.

Sounds like you have a good dealer there.

So guys,

I finally got my oil today. I ended up getting XPS 2 Full Synthetic. I got them for $29.03 per gallon + tax. So they ended up being $31.06 per gallon (I got 6 gallons).

The local BRP dealer, Mosites Motorsports had a "buy 2 get 1 free" for all oils today. For those of you local to Pittsburgh, they have a warehouse sale once a year and had awesome discounts on almost everything they sell. I got a couple of other things as well. Unfortunately, it is a one day sale, but mark it on your calendars for next year.

I actually almost pulled the trigger on the Mystik JT-4 oil last week, but held off.

Always check case prices on both gallons and quarts; the local dealer here has quarts on sale for $15 cheaper a case over the winter.

I have officially switched to Yamalube from Amsoil....for personal reasons....LOL ;)

I do wish you had given the Mystik JT-4 a try, Would have made a believer out of ya!

Could have had 8.71gal of Mystik JT-4 for the same price :-P

Over the winter my local farm store that carries the Mystik JT-4 had it on sale for $15.99/gal. I soo wanted to buy like 5 cases of the stuff, but I didn't.

My only option for the Mystik would be ordering direct and with shipping it ends up being $31 per gallon, so I got the XPS 2 for the exact same price.
