2 1995 spi's n trailer. Need help

Just signed up today and wanted to post the deal im getting. Hopefully its a good one so either way let me know.
2 1995 spi's w/ double trailer for $1800
the owner got them in a trade and has a boat so they do not really use them. 1 works perfect and the other just had the carb rebuild by a dealer and is back to perfect form again. All three titles are clear etc..
This will be my girlfriend and I first jet ski's we have ever owned, pretty excited about it but none the less let me know if this is a good deal? also if wanted to over winter, what engine swaps can I do? Since I own a DSM, working on motors is fairly common.

You could jump three sizes to a 720 motor & carbs. Bypassing from 587-657-657X motors. The flywheel & stator is same in 720, so just keep
all your electronics, and your 11-26 pitch impellor. You could ..up-grade that to a scat swirl 15-22.5 impellor for best hole shots, wave jumping ect.
overal 60 to 85 horsies! A very easy swap. Just find a complete 720 with duals, and choke cable. One thing I am not just remembering is if the throttle cable is different?
You may want to up-grade the MPEM module as the rev limiter is 6550, in comparison to a 720 @7000
rpm.

Def a good deal if they both run and the trailer is nice. Great first machines, but you will get bored quick. I highly recommend reading the X-4 thread.

thanks for the replies everyone! I will post up some pictures when we get them on Monday. What are the top mods? Solas impellers and a R&D intake grate? Alot of riding will be done on a river.

Where are you at? There are a few of us close to Pitt.

$1800 is a smoking good deal. Even if they are crap... you can sell the parts, and make $4k.

My advice is to NOT do too many mods. Go out, and ride them first, and see if you like the hobby. They will be fun even in stock trim. THEN... if you like it, either do some mods, or upgrade to faster skis. The "X4" hull is fun... but the $$$ to do an engine swap isn't worth it... and most of the smaller mods (impeller, intake grate, etc) don't offer huge performance gains. But, I will say this... the Pitt rivers are rough, so a mild top-loader grate can help keep the pump loaded.

We are going to get them on Monday and will be spending the day in VA riding around then coming back

I ended up getting everything for $1500 . so far I plumbed new fuel lines in both and bought 1 new battery. Everything is g2g on both! Will post up pictures soon.

Just seen this post We couldn't have gone though. We had to wait for the seat covers to come in and that just happened on Tuesday BUT we did get them on. Looked pretty dam good if you ask me. We are heading out tomorrow to the youghiogheny river lake, pretty dam excited! Definitely have to let me know when you guys head out again.

Not sure as of right now. My youngest sister is graduating tomorrow at 10am from HS so we have to go to that. Chances are we will end up on the river saturday if we do go out BUT sunday most likely back up to Yough Lake.

Well, we are not going anywhere now! all because the title was never properly transferred. The original owners name still on it, he sold it to someone else but that transaction was never properly done at a notary but that didn't stop that new owner using it in a trade to the guy I bought it off of. So now, I am the 4th man on the totum pole.

You got lucky. I've parted out a few skis because of PA title issues.
