During the summer I was taking on water and we went thru every system on the engine , running at throttle on water watching with the seat off and even filled it up inside looking for leaks but could find nothing. The I read about the siphon tube issues.

Need info please. I have my ski up at the lake but I have some pictures of the impellor area and I only see one siphon tube sticking out, I know now this is probably the cause of it taking on water this season. Where can I buy one and how is it installed? From the rear of the boat or from inside the engine compartment.
Thanks
Terry

The siphon tubes are a MUST HAVE as they create a low pressure area as the water rushes past them. This lower pressure is what pulls the water out of the hull without the tubes, the system can not work. That alone will not allow water into the hull, but if they are not mounted correctly on the inside, and or the O-ring seal is missing where the siphon tube is, this can allow water into the hull.

Calling Nick Minnetonka4me

Nick or Jess should have the parts you need.

I just ordered them, Thanks
Now how do I install? Can they be pushed in with glue from the rear of the ski into the impellor holes, or do you have to go inside the engine compartment?
I'm not at the ski till dec15, when I get there I want to fix it.
Thanks
Terry

Say I just heard you have to remove the pump housing to put the tubes in, is that true??
Thanks
Terry

nope that's false-ation.... you can press them in really tight with your finger, then take a small diameter dowel or a backwards screwdriver and give it a little tappie- tappie-taparoo. I didn't use glue on mine, they actually got in there really snug. depending on your model, some call for "Sealant, Black U 300" and others call for "Loctite"...like I said though, mine fit snug...
Also, beware, there are two different sizes. I had ordered some from Minn and they were the shorter ones (I think for a newer XP) so I never used them, took one out of an old pump nozzle from Spim. So, if you go to put yours in, and the one you're putting in is TOO LONG, and you do in fact have the shorter ones on yours, let me know and ill give you the short ones that im not using that didn't fit.

Thank you I ordered: Siphon Tube #271001133 for a 1998 Sea-Doo GTX Limited from SEADOO parts house.com, I hope they are the correct length, if not I will contact you, thanks so much. If I get them by next Friday, I will take them up to the lake in South Carolina and try them.

Just checked the ski and I see a siphon problem

Hello to all and Merry Christmas.
I just got back from the lake in winter and I checked the seadoo and took a picture of the rear end.
I see one siphon and one broken off, still part in the nozzle. What do I do next, is it easy to remove the broken siphon? Do you guys think that this could of caused the water inside? Hope you can help. FYI very sad news, while checking the cabin and garage, we found we had a robbery and sitting right behind the jet ski was a troy built new tractor hidden under insulation, well they took they tractor along with several items in a separate storage shed, go figure. The week before I just bought a AR 15 at a gun show , so glad I left that a home.

I will check the length of my tubes APRIL 4 and see if they fit in, if not I will contact you for the other size.

Thanks so much for you help

Some here have said that a missing siphon tube will not put water into the boat, that is incorrect, it will actually push water into the boat through the siphon tube, this info is straight out of the Seadoo service bulletin about the missing siphon tubes and I have observed this in the field as well.

A missing or damaged o-ring at the exit nozzle pump junction will do the same thing.

Excuse my lack of education but what is a 787?? I just want to make the water stay out so I can leave it at my dock overnight. I will be at the lake next week and I plan on putting the 2 new tubes in then. I will update.

Oh I see, I didn't catch that dividing line before the comment, I'm focused on fixing the ski so I read everything.

Hello I got to my ski and it looks like the 271001133 siphon tubes I bought are the short ones , now I have to find the longer ones any ideas??
Help I want to ride>

Due to the carbon seal design, Seadoo skis really should not be left at the dock over night. In fact, for the boats the manual actually states that they should not be.

Many do it and don't have issues. But MANY have found the ski sunk the next day.

I would never leave one at the dock unless it had a bilge pump installed.

No I would just be checking for water coming into the ski, It would not be a practice and the depth at my beach end of dock is only 8 inches. What kind of bilge do you install?

UPDATE: I was able to get the correct siphon tube and installed it. Loctite said it would not work with plastic so I used a small dab of 5 minute epoxy just to hold it.
We will see next week if it works, GOSH I HOPE SO after all this, I will keep you posted.
