hello.

I have a 1997 seadoo gsx.

Basically from idle to flat out, it just doesnt wanto go past 5000 rpm unless you hit the throttle twice. anything below 5000 rpm (cruising speed) is fine. runs like a charm.5200+ rpm runs fine. getting good rpm. until you slow down to 5000 rpm, it starts to boggle down and you have to hit the throttle again to get it to respond. This problem repeats. same issue, same RPM's.

new impeller, wear ring. checked the raves. cleaned the carbs. nothing to indicate that there any crap in the fuel lines. I'm baffled.

thoughts? thanks for the help.

Did you check the compression? The engine could be getting tired.

If that checks out... then go though the carbs, and RAVE's again.

Do a search for a thread called "Even Pro's mess up", and you will see why I say to go over them a second time.

yeah compression is good. 150ish per cylinder. i did check the raves n such various times to no effect.

I have a couple GTX that where acting that way. I got one fixed by rebuilding the carbs, changing the fuel lines and cleaning the rave valves. cleaning the rave valves did the trick. the other I am still fighting but it is bogging down. I believe it is a fuel delivery issue but am lost as to where. it is worse than when I started.

Water separator bowl may be cracked, allowing air into circulatory suction side of
fuel pump.
A Metal partical in Stator can cause erratic electrical behavior.
Raves should open around 4400rpm, you should feel a surge there.
A water droplet is ten times the size of a gas molecule. Again check separator/filter.

Again, clean the carbs micro-filters.
