1997 Seadoo GSX Cuts Out??

Alright so I have a 1997 GSX I picked up used a couple years back. I had no problems with it up to untill recently. I would be riding it and all of the sudden the electronic would just cut out and come to an abrupt stop. Take off the lanyard, Put it back on and it would start right up. This was periodic for about a month or so until one day she cut out and couldn't get the electronics to turn on. Started by bringing it to the dealer to get a new lanyard/dess key figuring that was a good place to start. The dealer hooked up the system to my ski and said it wasn't responding. He took it off and tried again and this time it made contact and he programmed the new key. Took it out that weekend to test and it ran great.Just before the end of the day it cut out like it had been before but then started right back up. So basically I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this in the past and has any idea what it could be? I really appreciate any feedback Thanks in advance!!

Also the ski has a Brand new Battery, and the Gauge cluster doesnt work aside from the RPM gauge. The speed sensor isnt bad (which leads me to believe it could be something with the electronics module)

The DESS post has gone bad. It's a common problem.

By Dess post you mean where the Lanyard plugs in correct? And also is it a hard job to replace or does it basically just plug in?

yup, where the landyard plugs onto. Remove the ring around the top of it, follow the wires to where it butt connects and remove.
