Hi, i have recently purchased a 97 Seadoo GSX, it has 100 hours and hadnt been used in over a year, i took it out to try it, i noticed it was a bit splattery when backing off, and at one staged it stalled on me and i had quite a bit of trouble starting it. i then took it out and started it outside with the hose with no problem, i then started it one more time the day after and it started no worries...

That being said im happy to keep it but dont want too use it again till i know its serviced, i was also told by the mechanic that i should get the carby/fuel system neded to be "done" at a cost of $500 AUD then a service...

Does anyone else recomend this? anything else i should check? i really dont want to rebuild it while i own it, and will probly only keep it for the next 3 months...

It sounds like it needs a good carb cleaning and the filters cleaned or changed. If you wanted to you could do this work yourself with one of our manuals in our "Premium Section". If you get stuck in the process, were here to help out also.

Thanks alot for the reply mate, im pretty handy with mechanicics so it might be worth having a reado, do you recomend doing this and then get it professionaly serviced?

Im also wondering if you could post a link of the carby cleaning thread

thanks again

If you do the service yourself you won't need to get it professionally serviced. The details for carb cleaning is in the manuals in our library. There is no post in the forum because it is too lengthy. That's why I mentioned joining, to read it in the manual.
