Howdy all. I currently have the beach house sponsons installed. I'm not a fan. I ordered a set of stockers off ebay. I see there are inserts and rubber pads. Looks like according to the parts fiche only three bays have those inserts in each sponson. What about the front bays? Won't they fill up with water?

Has nothing to do with filling up with water, it is to add strength.
You can also fill them with two part epoxy.

I can understand that, but it only looks like half of the hollow sponson get's filled. I don't have these in hand yet to fully understand, but do they fill with water? doesn't look like they are sealed to keep the water out even when mounted to the hull. Just looks like the studs have sealant around them to keep the water from going into the hull.

Coming back to this post.

I have the new OE sponsons, and the inserts in hand. I see on the parts fiche, it shows the inserts have sealant. Are they supposed to be sealed into the sponsons itself completely? The used inserts i have show no evidence of sealant of any sort. Just can't wrap my head around this simple thing i guess. I don't understand how they were from the factory since i have some aftermarket junk installed currently.

Are these OE sponsons supposed to be completely sealed around the outside perimeter with sealant as well? Are the cavities supposed to be sealed to keep water out? I know the studs are sealed to the hull to keep water out of the hull. That i get. Just questioning the sponsons themselves.

Thanks.IMG_2624.JPG
