I am trying to get this thing figured out. Got my second motor from SBT, first one was bad. Put everything in, took to lake, starts up and runs great, idles great. If I punch the gas, will start to go then fall on its face, if I gradually push gas slow, it will keep going, maybe a little miss, but will get into the 50's mph range, I figure is max for this ski anyway. I also pulled gas tank and completely cleaned, cleaned baffle, all new fuel lines, cleaned fuel selector valve. Only two things done differently than I can think may affect this, I put an inline fuel filter to try to catch anything before getting to the carbs for simpler cleaning, and instead of flush with top, the rave valves are turned in 5 clicks. I could also have the hi speed adjustment on the carbs out of whack, not sure. Is it possible the in-line filter I put in cannot keep up with an immediate need for the fuel when I punch it, and therefore is starving it after just a few seconds, which is what happens, starts to go when I first punch it, then falls flat, if I let off gas, will keep running. I am also running some pre-mix in my gas as well as injector, but don't think that would affect the acceleration. Also carbs have been completely rebuilt with new filters, diaphram, etc. Really got me stumped. What has me stumped is I put the same in-line filter in my 1997 XP which has the same motor, and I don't have that problem with that motor dieing after a few seconds after punching it. Any help would be appreciated.

do you have the inline filter from factory, still installed? if so, remove it, or remove the one you put in.

WHen rebuilding the carbs, did you replace the n/s spring, with ones from the rebuild kit?, if so, re-install the ones you removed.

agree with them you need to remove the filter it is slowing your fuel delivery thats why it bogs its STARVING
