1997 Challenger 1800 No beeps

I have a Challenger 1800 with 2 787 engines. Both engines run but the left engine will only rev to 3500 rpm at the moment and I am looking into that problem(poss neutral switch or rev limiter).
I noticed that the boat does not beep when I attach the lanyard cap and possibly it would help if I was getting info from it re the problem I have with the non revving engine. I found the speaker under the steering wheel. Do these go bad?

yes... the beeper goes bad. you can buy on from Radio Shack for $9 that will work.


When the slow engine revs... dose it stutter, or does it try to die?

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the beeper and it works fine now. The number 1 engine will still not rev over 3500 rpm. I would have thought that if this was the neutral switch, it would affect both engines. Is this thinking right? I understand that the revlimiter can be disabled to test if its the Mpem. Anyone know how to do that? Thanks.
