Hellow fellows, I just had an impeller and wear ring installed boat runs way better. Now when I throtle the boat acts like it wants to turn off unless I pull the choke up just a little, if I pull too much the boat stops, but if I pull just a little the boat takes off and then it takes over on it's on, weird and new to me! I was told that I need to rebuilt the carburators, but I don't know if that's true or not. There may be something that I could do myself. If anybody has any suggestions please pass them to me. Thx...

First... DO NOT CONTINUE TO RUN THE BOAT!!!!!!!!! since the carbs are plugged up, and you need the choke... you are running lean. This can go from an annoying problem that will require a couple hours of easy labor to fix... to needing a new engine in very short order. (a 2-stroke engine will melt down if it's run lean)

There is no way around this one... the carbs have to come off, and they need to be cleaned.

While they are off, clean the fuel filter/water trap, and check the fuel select valve for an air leak.

Check this out! I sprayed WD-40 into the Carbs and ran the engine with out plugs. It started spittin out a combo of water/gas/oil from the plug holes. After all the fluids stopped from coming out, I sprayed some more WD-40 into the carbs and it took off like a bat out of hell. now when I throtle up it responds pretty quick. Now, it sounds like a dirt bike going up hill! Do you think the carbs are clean now of any moisture or residue?...or u think that I should still clean out the carbs or rebuilt?...

I would go through the carbs anyway, it's better to be safe than sorry. Just my two cents worth.

Yea, I think you're correct. Even though it sounds pretty good right now, I don't want to chance it and end up replacing the whole engine!!!!. Im really getting familiar with my boat and digging it a lot!!! Thx for your reply,
