1996 gtx dess post replacement

I have a 1996 GTX. I replaced the DESS starting post and got a new lanyard.
When I put the lanyard on the new post there are no beeps and the gauges don't light up at all. I know I have to have the new stuff programmed but should there be some kind of beep or something on the gauges. I have tested the new post wires with a test light and have power. Please help.

you'll either get 1 beep, letting you know it aint the right landyard or nothing possibly, since the landyard is not programmed to anything.

Yup... you should get one beep if that lanyard isn't programmed.

Check your conections... or check your beeper. They are known to go bad.

I have checked all connections and fuses and they are good. I have tested the wires going up to the post and there is juice. I don't get any beeps and no lights on the dash light up or anything.
