:willy_nilly:Hi all this is my first post my ski is very hard to start to the point that the battery will die. and when it dose start it run's ok like 3000 rpm but when I take it to the lake it will not start in the water. I did get it running in the water one time it ran great as long as i stayed on the throtle but when I came in to the dock it died please HELP......

Post your compression and plug reading. Go thru fuel system & carbs. Gas goes bad
in 3-4 weeks by chemically changing. Can't be brought back to life. Use of STABIL
can post-phone the change up to about 6 mounths.
Attempting start-up with a low battery will damage the starter.

The top end was completely rebuilt and 150 on each cylinder and plugs are firing. I can get it to run on land with a hose but will not fire in the water? can the starter be bad or just cranking so slow it will not start?? It sounds like it is cranking ok.

Check your idle screw, I barely hold the throttle to keep my 92 xp running in the water i just havent cared to adjust the screw lol

:hurray:I took my boat to the lake on tuesday it started and I road it for like 30 min after that it would not start again lol. When I got it home I start tolook for the simple things and guess what the rubber seal for the gas lines was loss!!. So I retightened all clamps and it seems to start right up at least I hope. Going to the lake saturday and try again please wish me luck....
