Hi, i am currently revamping a 95 explorer in the UK with a 657 plant, would the main pump system be totaly different to a ski pump or would i be able to do a simple unbolt amd swap off a ski with a 657 power plant, seems to me that many parts are interchangeable ?? parts are pretty scarce in the UK so any help would be very welcome, thanks Dave

im fairly certain these 2 should easily interchange, i dont know if the ski you have has reverse, but your boat does, and uses a paddle/spoon ( no clue how to describe it ) to reroute water for reverse, correct? i dont know what kind of brackets hold on the reverse paddle or if it connects directly to the pump, if not, you should be good.

Cross reference...?

Yes, you have a huge selection of Seadoo's you can cross this over with. The original part number for this pump is 295500197 but has been discotinued and superceeded by part number 293300040.

The cross over PWC/boats are as follows:

1996-GSX, GTX, HX, Speedster.
1997-Challenger, Challenger 1800, GSX, GTX, HX, GS
1998-GTI, GS, GTX RFI
1999-GSX

There may be other pumps that can be crossed with this pump but those are the only ones I'm showing in my book. Although the pumps can be crossed and used, you will not be able to use the impeller on several of these models.

I hope that helps you out a bit!.......

Most of the 140mm pumps are interchangeable. You may find differences in the nozzles. Some will have a trim system, or reverse. If you just need the pump... then it's a non issue.

Also... you don't have to just look for a 650 system. You can use the pump from anything from about 1999 and earlier. (pre-Merc power)

Last thing... there are different drive shaft lengths... so if you need a shaft too... make sure you get the right one. I think they range from about 17" to 21"

Hope that helps.
