I have some ATV motors that call for thread locker on the outside of the seals ( crank, etc) to hold them in place and make sure they're sealed.
After doing some reading leaking outer crank seals leads to a lean condition and leaking inner crank and rotary valve seals lead to 2-stroke oil filling the crank and/or cylinders.
Is it OK to put a thin coat of 1211 on the outside of these 5 seals to help them seal in the cases and prevent future issues?
Also, I removed my rotary valve shaft to replace the rotary gear cushion o-ring and now the outer front seal is so loose it just spins with the rotary shaft. From what I've read this seal needs to be tight to prevent oil leaking in to the rotary valve cavity?
If so, this means completely pulling the rotary shaft apart and might as well replace the bearing as well as the front seal?
