New season is creeping up on me and I wanted to upgrade the exhaust on the RXT 215. I was looking at the Riva free flow but it has come to my attention that it has been discontinued. All they offer is the rear exit kit which would require me to drill a hole and the back of the hull. I've been trying to avoid that because there's no going back if its too loud it I don't like it for whatever reason. So I guess my question to those who have this kit installed, would do it all over again? How detailed we're the install instructions?

I don't have a thru hull exhaust...couldn't afford it.

But, I did make my own free-flo...for somethin like $16. Pretty easy...remove resonator...replace with piece of galv exhaust tubing and a coupla stainless steel clamps. Your's would be a lil different than mine...maybe cost a few dollars more because you'll have to have a bend in yours...but still doable for a lot less than the ol' Riva free-flow.

I also considered that. I'm looking like a straight piece and a 90* bend and weld them together plus clamps I'll be in it for less than $100

I just don't see the benefit of the rear exit over the free flow other than the cool idle because it sits above the water line

There is no performance improvement with a free-flo exhaust. The thru hull don't have any measurable performance improvement either.

The free-flo's no wake sound does have a nice rumble...but you'll get a loud somewhat annoying drone at around 3K....and just louder at wot. The thru hull's big hp improvement is giving you somewhere to put that external inter-cooler....and they sound kinda raspy and badazz at wot.

imho

aside...If you look around a bit...I bet you can find the pipe you want with the bend already in place.

I found a place locally that will mandrel bend me a pipe to my measurements. Stainless or aluminum.

Cool...see if they can put that flare/bump on either end then too. Give the clamps something to grab hold of....so to speak.

Having a clamp come loose and the pipe slipping out is a quick way to find out how deep the lake is. What kind of clamps did you use?

regular ol' ss worm gear....$1.99 or there abouts...didn't wanna wait for t-bolts in the mail. That is what most use though...Stainless T-bolt clamps.

I just have to get it out of storage and take it apart to measure everything so I can get my pipe ordered. What diameter is it do you know off hand?
