07 rxp timing chain broke

Were the supercharger clutch washers failed and jammed in the chain causing it to stretch/break? I'd expect you've got a few bent valves now, since it's likely the crank was turning while the camshaft wasn't.

I think what I'd do probably is align the gears, toss a new chain on there and see how the compression looks then go from there.

If there's metal chards all in the oil pan and filter, that's going to take a toll on the oil pump and bottom end assuming the trash got into the oiling system.

Wasn't there another thread on a broken timing chain on an 07 with only 47 hrs on it. The guy got really ticked off at BRP then sold it to a guy in Canada and he fixed it for less than retail value and used it for a yr or so then sold it to his uncle.

Have a 2007 rxp with a broken timing chain at 100 hrs. I think it is time to take it to a pro to fix?
There have been many post about this subject. Use the search bar in this section. This should give you an idea what you are up against and whether you can accomplish this repair. You will need to download an Enging Shop Manual from being a Premuim member at this site or maybe find it free on the web.
If you do take it to someone, you will know what to expect.

Yea, t-chains were a failure item in the mid 2000's with the 215's. The whole motor has to come apart, including the block halves. It's quite a procedure, but do-able with a few special tools, a repair manual and lots of patience. I'd replace the chain with a new OEM (they have since updated the chain), replace the flywheel bolts, get a new set of valves (as the 07's were also prone to fail), and don't re-use any of the case stretch bolts. The head CAN be reused if you measure the bolts and them to be in-spec. But it's probably better to replace them too. Also, rebuild the S/C with steel washers. I went ahead and got an updated OEM kit and rebuilt mine. All in all, the parts cost me about $1k. I needed a special valve spring compressor tool (~$30), some supercharger tools (I think ~$35 from SBT), and an accurate torque wrench (borrowed neighbor's).
