alright, im going to be honest, ive neglected my RXP a bit. i have green fuzz growing on the sides (it rips off the bottom at full speed :D) i havent cleaned it in forever, it got serviced 40 hours ago, and i give people rides like its a taxi. (i do, however, use marine Premium fuel with no ethanol in it)

i was wondering how it is that i seem to have a bit of an advantage over everyone else. is it the fuel? is it my speedometer wheel hanging up a bit causing the governor to not engage until im going over 70mph? i should NOT be able to outrun a 2011 RXTX, a newer kawasaki 260, and a honda turbo from about my year, all in the top end, or should i?

any logical, factual based explanations or hypotheses are welcome, cause seriously, im not complaining, but i am confused

(yes, this is my first post here, i know i reak of newb, **puts flame suit on** im ready now)

Well the RXT-X is a longer heavier hull than your RXP. I don't know anything about the Kawasaki 260 nor the Honda Turbo. What RPM's are you maxing out at? Are you the original owner of this RXP? Any mods made to hull or engine to increase top speed?

Finally, it may be partially attrributed to the fact that you don't care and aren't afraid to hold WOT for as long as it takes, while the other guys may have been hesitant to give their machines full throttle as quickly or for as long. ~70 mph is FAST on the water on PWC watercraft, that can cause driver's to let off the throttle just a bit....

That's my guesses at any rate. Why did you think we'd flame you Scott? It's your watercraft, it's your business what you do with it. LOL!

so you're saying you DO go faster than a 2011 rxt-x?

i raced one, took off quicker (had new impeller at the time, RXT-X was brand new-ish but they were definantly WOT.

the ultra 260's have nothing on my top end. i raced one with a bad impeller in a short race and won, and i raced 2 down the Fox River and came out ahead. this was before the cavitation had me worried, hitting 6kRPM before taking off......

are the RXT/RXP impellers different pitches? i do have an RXT impeller in it i got for the price of 2 cases of non alcoholic beer.....

by the way, you dont WANNA know what ive done with my ski. and if you really do, assure me cops cant get my profile info, and make a thread about "craziest things youve done with your PWC" and send me the link in a PM. ive got some stories for you guys

What have you been auditioning for the next "Jackass" movie? LMAO!

RXT and RXP can use the same pitch impellers, or you can change them to slightly different pitch impellers. Do you have any idea if the impeller you are using is a genuine OEM SeaDoo RXT impeller? If it's shiney then it's an aftermarket performance impeller (Solas, or another brand name).

May I ask what RPM's your getting at WOT???

totally forgot to check RPMs today. uhhh next time i go out (maybe tomorrow) i shall check.

i cant figure out why mine catches up to everyone in the top end.... unless its a speed limiter calibration error....

if it was a new t-x...his ecu wouldn't open up the motor till he was past 10hrs or so. as for the others...on glass i'm sure you're fast on top. however...if you find you can kill them in the rough...i would like to hear about it.

Forget the Honda..that's a noob kill.

it wasnt ROUGH water. it was enough to make the ski unstable and lose traction though. i just hung as far off the back as i could (promoted some bounce but the extra plane and keeping the intake in the water helped a bit i think)

not sure if this will post on here, but this is a trim-down run i did in april. my left hand held my phone so i couldnt put the trim up... and hopping would not make a good 0-60 time. (by the way, the supercharger sounds awesome in this clip) this is before i had cavitation issues...

The ripples in that vid are as close to glass as I usually get. aside...are you still running original clutch washers?

 no i blew those up at 34 hours.

ive had the stainless ones since...... the second set of washers blew and grenaded my engine. (im on second impeller, second engine, third supercharger rebuild)

those ripples are on a secluded lake i cruise quite a bit. the Fox River, where i raced some kawasakis, is nothing but crosswakes. theyre not huge, but you can lose balance quite easily.

EDIT: i was at 7900 RPMs at 60mph. this was the beginning of the season before it got REALLY bad. does that seem like a wear ring to you guys?
