Looking at buying an 04 xpdi has under 80 hours on it and looks very well maintained just wondering if there are any common problems with them I know older model 951’s only make it to like 200 hours I’ve heard these later models have been a bit detuned and can last longer any info on them would be very helpful

LOLOLOLOLOL...
Sorry, I had to get that out. The 951 DI is the most problem plagued engine seadoo ever made. When they run great they are a great engine and when not they are an expensive nightmare.

The DI is a direct injected lean burn 2-stroke. Lean burn and 2-stroke are not a good combination. I wouldn't expect more than 200 hours out of it. You have to feed it only Full Synthetic API-TC oil and fresh gas. It has to have a strong battery. The fuel pumps are known to fail and are $800 to replace.

Don't listen to these guys. I have 4 DI skis and they are great. Cheaper to maintain than any carbed ski i ever owned. They run fast and sip gas. :):):thumbs-up::thumbs-up:

No reason to fear a well maintained ski. I can't wait to try out the RFI compared to the carbed 96 GTXs. If I like it and I think I will, I will sell one of the 96GTXs and keep it for me. :) :) All my motorcycles are fuel injection and I just hit the button and BAM she's a runnin. I remember trying to start the S&S Carbed Harley... you only had so many tires before the battery went dead. It was a ritual to get it cranked but if you did it right... you were rewarded, Fail and you were punished. :D :D
