RESTO 03 GTX DI Multifunction Display Removal

This might be a really dumb question but I am trying to change out the multifunction display on this 03 DI. I have removed all of the very small screws that secure the black plastic cover to the inside of the hood. I can’t for the life of me get the two to separate.

They slide first, then comes out.

A rubber mallet is helpful. I forget which way the tap the inner cover. If I remember correctly I opened the little glovebox and inserted a block of wood and tapped. It doesn't have to move far. Good Lck and be gentle and careful. Seadoo seems to have gone to great lengths to design cheap plastic parts that get brittle and brake if you look at them too hard. I ad to epoxy the tapped plastic fittings at the bottom of the hood.
