03 gtx 4tec ems ecu replacement

i believe i have this properly troubleshot. ski would run fine one day, then couple days later, not even a sputter. the fuel pump will not run unless i jump the negative direct. at the connector to the fuel pump, i have 12vdc when the lanyard is attached. but it doesn't carry a load. the negative has to be jumped to ground for the fuel pump to work or a 12v test lamp to illuminate.

the service manual suggests replacing the ems ecu. it also says the new module needs to be programmed w/B.U.D.S. and all lanyards need to be reprogrammed. does anyone know if that is accurate?

It would make sense that the ECU is faulty and yes, it will be necessary for a dealer to reprogram keys.

just noticed on the schematic, there are (4) leads going to the engine block (ground) from the ecu. i'm going to megger each one. would be nice to find one loose and corroded a little
