Hey guys, I bought a 02 RXDI a few months back and found out for some reason there was a missing voltage regulator not even plugged in and it was throwing a MAINT light Low 12V warning. I was givena rectifier from my jet ski mechanic and plugged it in and it fixed all the warning lights and got the ski out of limp mode. I just noticed that the rectifier he put on does not look like the ones they sell on eBay. Are all voltage regulators the same? and can you tell if the one I have plugged in will work long term for me an not damage anything? The electrical connectors seem to be the exact same on both, a two prong and three prong ends.

Pic 1 and 2 are what was given to me and what is plugged in. pics 3 and 4 are what the eBay ones look like that say it is for my ski.

Thanks in advance, just want to make sure I have the correct rectifier and it will not hurt anything and I can keep having fun out there.

For the most part... they are universal. there is a 3 phase (with the 3 yellow wires) and a single phase style. They are meant to charge a 12v wet battery, so they will go up to 13.5v~14v

The only unknown is if the metal case is connected to the actual ground wire of the regulator. For the most part, in a boat/pwc it's not a big deal since they get mounted into plastic/fiberglass. If it needs an extra ground... you add a wire.

Thanks I just want to make sure if I have a rectifier from an older Seadoo it is not going to blow any major electrical components like an ECM or anything? Like I said I took the ski out the other week and ran it for a few hours and had no issues and the battery seemed to hold a good charge and when I got it home threw it on the trickle charge and it charged back up very quickly.
