I have a 2002 GTX RFI that has been sitting in storage for the past 2 years due to financial\weather issues. It was dealer winterized prior to going into storage. The battery has been kept in a charged state during the storage period.

I gave the battery a full charge the other day & installed it. The unit gives the double beep when connecting the key. When the start button is pushed it sounds like it wants to turn over but after three "clunks" it stops. Pushing start again has the same result.

I am wondering if the engine is seized or if it could be as simple stale gas. Stabilizer was added when going into storage but it's been sitting there for 2 years. Any thoughts? If it is the engine how can I test this? Not having any experience with small engines am I likely going to need to take it into be serviced if the engine is seized?

Battery

You might have lost battery capacity. Jump your ski to a car battery, MAKE SURE THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING WHEN YOU JUMP IT TO THE SKI. See if it will start.

If it does you need a new battery.

I'm thinking the issue is either with the battery or the starter. It turns over a lot more after jumping it but it still won't start. I can turn the engine by hand which from what I understand indicates that the engine isn't seized.

Hey Oiler: you may have a fuel or water lock....Pull the plugs out and see if will crank over. If it does you may want to change the fuel and flush it out.
