02 GTX RFI stator test

I have a 02 gtx rfi and ive been having bad luck with stators and my ski. My low volt is blinking and my rectifier (brand new OEM under 30hours) is bascally stone cold. And ive pluged the original rectifier and a ebay rectifier in and still have no output. Is there any way to check the stator outout without buying 4 colored wires for 100$ (the stator test harness) or taking the whole engine out.

Sure there is... unplug the stator plug, look at the color of the wires and touch your multi meter to those terminals. It is a pain in the butt but you can take readings. I have many times. Did you removed your stator cover and have a look in there? It can get pretty funky. Is your ground wire from the connector hooked up and do you have a good ground there??

I've been planning on making cutting the plug off another harness and using that for testing but I have not done that yet. I guess I don't do it enough to make it worth my while as I like have spare parts.
