    Nasty looking stator

This one still had water laying inside.. I'm thinking it got in past the (aftermarket) starter. Another reason to not buy those cheapo ones.. It was locked up and not working but did pop out easily, too easily.. Note: not my ski, I know better, and now he does as well I got sidetracked with...

    Nasty looking stator

Finally got around to pulling the other stator. (1998 GSXL 947/951) Not sure what caused water to get in, but it did. I can't remember if this is the one that sunk or if it was the other...either way, it happened. Seal bad? Should I look elsewhere? How else could water get in here? Your...

Help! I broke something! Please identify and advise

How does it come off? I wrenched on it with a pair of pliers, but I’m worried about snapping the other side. Does it just unscrew?

    1998 GSXL stator questions

Finally got to it. Not too bad except for the one pain in the ass bolt behind the front motor mount.. Here's what I found inside, two pieces of metal. Stator looks like it took some damage from them. Thoughts on how it may or may not work now that the metal chunks are removed? Lastly, these...

Help! I broke something! Please identify and advise

    Hump Seats

Please keep us posted as to how it turns out. I have some friends with skis in need of foam replacement, but I'm too intimidated to take on shaping foam at this time. Seems like an expensive mess up if it's done wrong.. I just got started with vinyl and a sewing machine and foam is the next...

RESTO 1997 xp seat cover diy

Just to get out on the water early this past season, I did a quick wrap of clearance vinyl so my butt and more importantly, the ladies butts wouldn't get pinched by the old seat cover.. Now it's the end of the season and I purchased a sewing machine to do some work on the boat seats and...

Tweaking 92 SP bought at auction

You can find trailer bearings at stores like Rural King, Tractor Supply and so on. If you don't have any of those nearby, check a RV/camper dealer or service center. As for your ski and how it's running, it's a 92 SP...it is what it is, not that fast. From what you are saying, hole shot and...

    Exhaust leak 1997 xp 787 800

Wow that was a fast reply. I certainly appreciate it. I noticed that silicone but was wondering if I was missing something other than that. I will get it apart and see what it looks like. Thank you and I will let you know if I need one. What's the best way to reach you for an order?

    Exhaust leak 1997 xp 787 800

Hull is taking on water from a leak in the exhaust cooling system. Water is coming in from the topmost, frontmost, exhaust...looks like a plug of some sorts. It's of course the one on the underside and difficult to reach. It's the plug closest to the oil pump. I pulled the 3 bolts and nut on the...

    Replacing old handlebar grips

Maybe try tennis racket or baseball bat grip tape?

Start stop button / hand grip removal

No need to completely remove the set screw. Loosen just enough that the assembly moves freely. If you do unscrew it all the way, there is a lock nut on the inside you need to not lose.. Trust me, I learned the hard way lol
