Hi all,
just had Mpem replaced due to no spark. Been out of water for 2 yrs! Fired it up the other day and got a continuous BEEEEP from the key. any suggestions ? cheers

So by saying fired it up, do you mean it started? If so and you are getting a continuous beep there's a couple of you can check. A continuous beep usually means the engine is overheated so check the temp. sensor, disconnect the wire from the sensor, if the beep stops it's most likely a faulty temp. sensor.

Lou

No, not an overheating problem, a problem with the temp. sensor. Use an ohm-meter or a test light, if you get a short from the terminal to ground the temp. sensor is bad.

ok, had it running on the hose earlier for about 5 mins then BEEEEEEEEP continuous, Killed it straight away.
Rear cyl seems to be slightly brown and the plugs look 'wet'
Q. How long should a ski be run on the hose?

You really shouldn't run the ski on the hose for more than 2 minutes, you will overheat the carbon seal. The hose connection is actually for flushing the ski. Does the ski overheat when running in the water. The motor should never be hotter than you can touch it with your hand.

Hi Lou, thanks for your reply. The ski hadn't run for about 2-3 yrs before recently renewing Mpem. I haven't had a chance to get it in the water yet as I run it in the sea where I have a holiday home. I'll be taking the ski down there end of May so I can see how it runs. Do you think the BEEEEEPing is due to tooooo long on the hose? Here's hoping a run in the water will be ok.
what about the 'wet' plugs. I know they should be a nice biscuit brown but both seemed 'wet'
Thanks again for your time. Steve.
