I have a problem with my 95 XP 800.

It was working great last weekend, and today I tried to take it out. The battery was really low and dying so I decided to just charge it up. When I put the battery back in the ski, suddenly the front starter relay only clicked, nothing else. It wouldn't recognize the DESS key.

So I mess around with it and suddenly, it doesn't even click. Only when I hold the start/stop button down does it seem to power up and stay that way.

What the hell is going on? How did this happen?

some quick answers -

The battery was out of the ski when I charged it
My power wires are good ( not corroded )
My beeper does not work.

I swapped the part that was clicking with another one I had laying around, I believe it's the power relay from the front electrical box, and now it doesnt stay on unless I hold down the start/stop button. Do I have a bad switch?

Before, I would hit the switch and the ski would stay powered on for 3 seconds and then it wouldn't do anything. I would click it, be able to move the vts for about 2 seconds and then it would just stop

Put the old one back in and it just does the same exact thing. How the hell did my MPEM fry like this out of nowhere?

Here's a video I made, just showing what it does. Now whenever I put the key on, just flashes quickly.

When I hold the start button, I have to hold it. When I click it, it does what you see, flicks on and off.

Inside the DESS lanyard plug are two contacts, as well as there are two contacts on the DESS post. Clean all 4.

HTH

Warm soapy water wiped onto the DESS post and inside the lanyard "key", rinse, and dry, and give it a try.
