Just picked up a set of beach house sponsons for the 96 xp. Any one have any tips on installing them?

I installed mine in my xp in about 2 hours. Didn't have to cut the foam out.
Quick tip is to superglue the nut to the washer, after that it's a long extension and lots of patience.
Having 3 arms and super long fingers would help a lot :)

After attaching the nut to the washer put a small piece of cut paper towel between the nut and the socket. This will keep it from falling out. Just make sure the extension does not pull off the socket easier then the socket pulls off the nut.

Fender washers or even aluminum plates are good for support on the inside if you do cut the foam out. Be sure to use a liberal amount of silicone after cleaning all the parts well and wiping with Acetone or the prep of your choosing. You can wipe the access off after all three bolts are tightened.

You can also use the straw method..... Push a long straw in the hole from the outside. Then you can run your washer and nut down it from the inside.

A hole saw works well for enlarging the stock holes for larger support washers.

I like the idea of the straw.... never thought of that... where was that idea 6 months ago when I was cursing in the garage..?

i did beach house sponsons on my 95 GTX, it was not impossible, but not much fun either. instead of gluing the washers to the nuts, i put some bearing grease on the nut and washer before sticking them in the socket so they wouldn't fall out until it was threaded on. i had to take the water box out of the ski to get to the bolts on the left side, luckily nothing was blocking the screws on the right side. it was about two or three evenings worth of work in the garage, but well worth it. with them set on the most aggressive
