I just got some beach house sponsons for my 98 spx 787. Do I have to cut the foam and or remove my water box? Is it difficult to do and does anyone have any tips for this job?

Google replacing sponsons on seadoo x4. There are threads about it. From what I remember, its not easy to do and involves tapping the nut to the socket when your putting the new ones on.
I just did it on a 97 GS. The water box was removed. Foam in place. I taped the washer and nut to a socket and long extension. Used a mirror and pen light. It was a pain, but doable..
