Just wondering if anyone has any opinion on the following Jet Ski's available for sale locally in Calgary. If you dont already know, any watercraft up here in Canada is usually around 30-40% more expensive than the same in the US, so I was wondering if these were worth an offer:

The card rebuild, should be simple enough if that is indeed what is wrong with the 1997, any thoughts on the issues described and whether that is he likely problem.

The 1995 is the worry, without tearing it down to some degree its going to be tough to figure out exactly whats wrong, but I guess the fact it still turns over is a potential blessing??

Let me know your thoughts

Thanks

I would say that they are a little pricey for what your getting. The one that is siezed up could turn into a complete rebuild in which case you might as well buy a new engine. The other one as descrined seems fair to assume a carb issue or a fuel delivery problem. I buy broken ski's all the time and fix them so i guess if it were me i would go with it but i would not pay over 2500 -3000 at the max but like you said things are more expensive where you are so i dont know what that is equivalent to. My biggest worry would be paying what he wants and then having to put 1500-2000 grand into them which would add up to lets say 6000. Down here you can buy a very very nice low hour set of ski's with a trailor for that price. So my advice is Hold off and make the drive down here to pick some up for half the price.

Thanks Brock, that was I was figuring, I have driven down and bought my last 3-4 boats (including 3 Seadoos boats) from the States and saved a bunch of cash. Where do you tend to pick your 'bargains' up from Craigslist or do you have others sources?

Thanks

Actually what i do is go to a dealership that accepts trade ins on new purchases. When a customer purchases a new pwc and trades their old one in usually the dealership with only give the a few hundred bucks for it if there is something wrong with it. And most of the time the customer that buys a brand new one is not very mechanically inclined so its usually an easy fix. They will sell it to you for what theyt got it for. I just got a 1997 seadoo gsx 800 for 300 bucks that had no spark. put a 40 dollar coil in it and wrode it last night it has 55 hours on it so keep looking man
