I just bought a 98 gsx ltd and I finally installed a new battery to start her up..I hooked up the garden hose and fired it up. Took a few trys but I got it running. My concern is that It sounds like something is grinding after I let off the throttle and the rpms are coming down. This thing sounds like a rattle trap. The seat was off So im sure I heard more than I would if the seat was on plus like I said, it wasnt in the water so Im sure the water muffels alot of the sounds. Should I be concerned about anything??

Welcome to the seadoo forum. You should add your model and year to your avatar for future questions. I'd be concerned that you put it on the hose then started it up Start it up and then turn the water on. Just run it at an idle to flush or run it on the hose and not much more than 5 minutes. If you do the jet pump bearings and seals will get hot. They are cooled when in the water. That noise you hear is the spring in the jet pump rattling around. Normal for the most part.

Whats the difference between putting water to it first then starting it..versus no water & starting it?? Sorry newb question...

The engine needs to be running or the water back flows into the exhaust and water floods the engine. The you'll have some major problems starting it.
