winterizing woe

I have read through the service manual for my 1999 Seadoo GTX Limited that describes the cold weather winterization. I can find the drain hose where water will exit, and the water inlet hose, but I don't know where I put the antifreeze into the engine. This model has the 947cc engine. Is the antifreeze solution poured into the water inlet hose that is on the right hand side of the engine between the cylinders until the antifreeze reaches the drain hose? Thanks!

The manual states:
1. Install a hose pincher to engine drain hose.
2. Disconnect engine water return hose from cylinder head.
3. Install a hose pincher on water inlet hose (except on 947 engine).
4. Temporarily install one short piece of hose to engine water outlet fitting.
5. Insert a funnel into hose. Pour antifreeze mixed with water in the engine until the solution is visible in the water return hose.
6. Remove temporary hose and reconnect engine water return hose to engine.
7. Remove hose pinchers.

This information is for the 2 stroke 1996-1999 engine Pwc or Jet boat.

You need to add about 1 qt.of anti freeze mixed 50 /50 to the cooling line going into the head from the rear of the seadoo. There should be an arrow on the head pointing the direction of water flow. It is the one closest to the exhaust. The other hose is the return or exit hose. Remove that one too...it is on carb side. Both of these hoses are on the rear of the engine. If your engine has a clear engine drain line you need to pinch that one off so the anti-freeze just doesn't run out. It is usually clear and under the exhaust manifold. That is the one to pinch if it has this line. Attach a hose and use a funnel to add the anti freeze to the hose nipple closest to the exhaust at the rear. Re attach the 2 hoses. On the front head cooling line is the hose going to the exhaust. Add about 3 oz. of anti-freeze to the exhaust line also. Re attach the hoses and remove the pincher from the engine drain line under the exhaust manifold if yours has it. Spray your engine and components with wd-40 and silicone spray...store the battery in a warm dry place and your done.
I hope this clears this up for you.

yes, you got it. pour it in at the fitting between the cylinders using a short piece of hose with a funnel. there's no arrows on the 951 head.

I prefer to put 2 quarts of antifreeze in the hose with a 6' clear section of hose at the end and just hook it up to the inlet at the rear and start the motor, turn hose on and shut off as the antifreeze starts to clear. advantages are it's quicker, no hoses to remove, antifreeze gets pumped through entire system like pipe and water box to prevent corrosion. I have quite a set up with disconnects and shut off valve at the clear section. I also fog the motor at the same time and can winterize a 2 stroke in 15 to 20 minutes(not including pump oil change).

So just to confirm. The clear engine drain hose that follows the driveshaft is pinched off. The water inlet hose that is between the cylinders on the starboard side of the engine is removed. Approximately 1 quart (litre) of RV antifreeze is poured into the engine water inlet until the antifreeze makes it to the drain tube. The drain hose is opened and most of the antifreeze will drain out. The water inlet hose is reattached.

I really appreciate the information. Thanks!
