Winterizing question about fogging on 2012 GTI

Some spray fogging oil into the cylinders by removing the spark plugs, some by removing the fuel rail and injectors which to me is the easier way to go.

I would want to coat the valve seats and stems if I could, both intake and exhaust. I can usually accomplish this by simply cranking the motor over while the plugs are out if there's enough oil.

This. I always pull the plugs and spray generously in each cylinder. Then holding the throttle wide open crank it over a few times to coat.

I also turn it over when squirting in from the fuel rail, but I think from now on I'll do both. Do I need a thin wall 5/8" spark plug socket for the plugs?

Here's another question. How long of running will it take to get the stabilized fuel in my tank to the engine? I ran on the hose for 2 minutes as that was as long as I was comfortable with doing. You think I got the stabilized fuel to the engine in that amount of time?

I don't believe so. Every 5/8 plug socket I've tried has worked for me so far. Some people have had a hard time with some. Maybe I'm just lucky. Make sure you don't over-tighten the plugs when re installing. You're threading them into aluminum. Just nice and snug with some anticease on the threads.

About 2 min is all you should run in on the hose. I've done that in the past and it seemed to be enough as I had no issues in spring. Next time when taking it out for the last time just add the stabilizer before you ride and that way it'll make its way through for sure.

I went back and fogged the cylinders today as well. My 5/8" spark plug socket worked but I had to cut the rubber holder inside it in half so it wasn't gripping the plug so tight. Otherwise when I tried pulling the socket off after installing, the socket wanted to stay on the plug inside the plug recess hole. I blipped the throttle once in drown mode afterwards to get everything covered well inside.

The best, easiest, and fastest way is to pull the fuel rail, two bolts, and spray in the injector holes just as the manual states.

How do the intake valves get coated if you spray into the spark plug holes? The intake valves only open on the downstroke so how is the fogging oil defeating gravity?

My 2013 GTX 155 says to pull plugs to fog (PIA) - my old 06 said to fog thru the injector holes - much easier. What is wrong with going thru injector holes ??
