OK guys and girls. I picked up two 1994 seadoo gtx with 657 engines in them. one has a locked up motor and the other one has what seems to be a good motor (compression is 160 pounds on both sides and holds). I was told this ski was running a couple years ago and was parked after the summer and never touched again until I bought them. Well I was actually told that about both skis.

So this is the issue I'm having. The good motor is pulled with all the components and the hull was chopped up and it will be the pad in a jet jon boat. I will not be using the gas tank or oil tand out of the ski. I will have a 10 gallon gas tank like for a kicker motor and will be presented mixing. So I don't need the fuel gauge or speedo. All I really want to use is the kill switch and push button start. The question is will this motor start with out all that stuff plugged in? I've got it hooked up to a battery and it will not turn over when start button is pressed. I can jump the starter solenoid and it turns over. I tried plugging in the fuel sending unit, oil sending unit, handle bar kill switch and gas gauge with same results. I do have continuity on push button start switch and key/kill switch. I know it's a good chance the solenoid is bad but it seems like with all the stuff plugged in I'd get a low oil light or the fuel gauge would move when key is plugged in . Like some type of life to it but I get nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

First you will still need oil to the rotary valve even with premix.
You don’t need the sending units for it to run. The solenoids are a pretty common part to be replaced.
