White smoke that smells like gasoline on a GTX Wake 2004

Hi,

I have now checked the temperature sensors.
The one at the exhaust system didn't work correctly.
I also think it has been some small leakage around that sensor.
The threads look corroded and very bad.

I switch place with one of the other that worked correctly and added some new sealing.
Now after a quick test it doesn't smell like gasoline from the exhaust.
It is smelling like "normal" now.
But there is still some smoke.

This should narrow your investigation to 1 of 4 possible sensors.
What is the 4th sensor you are thinking about?

I need to test it in water also but for the moment it is to cold.

Thanks all for your help and input!

The 4 sensors I was referring to were the CPS, MATS, MAPS, and TPS. This was based on your observation that the engine was running rich (too much fuel).

It seems as though you may have solved your problem by replacing the exhaust temperature sensor. You must have had an exhaust leak in the engine compartment all along. The white smoke out the tail pipe is normal, it is just steam produced by the water injection and water in the mufflers.

If you still think that the engine is not running correctly test the sensors I referred to in the beginning of the post.

Okay, thanks.
I only had the 3 temp sensors in my mind.
I didn't read your post carefully enough.. stupid me :banghead:

I think I will do some test regarding the CPS and TPS also.

Did you have a chance to check the temp sensors?

Just curious on what your results were.

Yes I have, see post #26...

Both MATS and CTS sensor worked fine.
The EGTS sensor did not.

Next weekend I will do some more tests with the CPS, TPS and MAPS sensor.
