I see problems with both.

On the first pic... you need to clamp the boot to the PTO. Right now, I'm sure it's expanding, and allowing the grease to come out. AND... it may just rip.

On the second pic. The clamp on the PTO is a hose clamp. With that big box where the tightening screw is... it will throw the PTO off balance, and will cause vibration, and could cause premature seal and crank bearing wear. I would remove it, and put a heavy duty zip tie on both. (on the PTO, and the driveshaft)

Also on the second pic... it looks like you have lost the clip that holds the stainless ring in position. It should not be up to the PTO boot. On the older Seadoo's, they used an O-ring. It probably broke, fell off, and allowed your stainless ring to move. (are you getting cavatation on that side?) Anyway... the new way to hold it is a metal C-clip. Just slide it rear ward, and snap a clip into the notch on the driveshaft. (I would do both sides while you are doing it) The C-clip can be bought at your local dealer.

Dr Honda..How hard is it to push the Stainless ring rear ward. i believe that is my issue and missing the c-clip and the Ring has moved towards the PTO boot..should it move with easy? to find the notch to apply a C-clip.

Thanks Topshelf

It's not easy to move... but it will move. There are 2 O-rings inside the stainless ring, and they get stiff. Also... the boot that pushes the the carbon ring to the stainless ring, is very stiff.

Also... the C-clip to hold the stainless ring in place is not a common clip. You will need to get it at your local dealer.

Thanks DR Honda..

So if i give her tar from inside the engine compartment and push towards the rear she will move..or do i need to take anything apart?..

thanks Agian

just push it rearward from inside the boat. To get mine to move... I used a little oil squirted into the stainless ring, and then I used a small pry bar to get it to move. (just don't bend anything)

If you decide to use a little oil... don't get it on the carbon ring.

Dr.Honda

you wouldnt happen to have a picture of what it should look like once complted or how it should be?

Thanks,
