Which amp would you guys go with??

Ok.. So stupid me I was in a rush to start ordering all the audio equipment for the boat and I order the Alpine PDX-4.100M and then later decided that I wanted to use a sub in the system but it was too late and the amp was already processed and shipped out.. Problem is that its an online retailer and in order to return they said there would be a restocking fee and obviously I have ot pay for the return shipping.. so anyway.. I already ordered the sub so its too late to back out now lol.. the only thing left to get is an amp for the sub.. i thought about getting the Alpine PDX-600.1 but to spend close to 400 on an amp that is just pushing 1 10inch kicker that uses 150w rms and 300 max is kind of expensive.. so i narrowed it down to 2 amps.. most of my decision on narrowing down was based on their size,, they are the smallest ones i could find that look like they can give the power the sub needs.. I am trying to decide between the Boss MR800 or the MB Quart Nautic NAU260.. The good thing about the Boss is that it states it has 800watts in bridge mode which is way mroe then i need but good in case i plan on expanding down the road.. the mb quart shows 180wrms bridged.. the mb quart is goign for 84 while the boss is going for 102... not much of a price difference.. like i said the biggest concern is space.. i am hoping and praying that i will fit both the alpine and whatever amp i choose for the sub behind the gauge cluster.. its probably going to be a very tight fit but im hoping it works..

That Alpine Amp is goin to be smaller than what you think..thet are REALLY compact, so you should have plenty of room

I would try to sell the first amp and buy the single Alpine to run everything. Much easier install that way. I am suprised the person that sold the amp wont just take it back since you are buying another one from them that cost even more.

You did the right thing choosing the alpine though. these things are amazing. They are very small. Mine fits under the cooler and still has plenty of room in there. It powers everything easily and doesnt use much juice to do it. It really is the main part of the whole system.

if ya have the space infinity amps made by harmon kardon has scratch and dent and refurbished 600 by 1 class d mono block sub amps on e bay for around 110 shipped. class d amps will really push subs quite well. I picked one up it had a 1 cm scratch on it.

Well the new speedster's dont have much room under the little cooler.. i had a spot that had just enough room for the alpine but now to try and find another spot for an amp i think will be impossible.. i dont think im going to get 2 amps in there..i thought maybe getting the pdx-600.1 would work being that i could stack it but its just too expensive for me..i guess ill have to wait and see.. i listed the alpine up for sale in the classifieds section and ill see how it does.. maybe ill try selling it on ebay and see if it will go for what i paid but i doubt it... and im not going to take a loss on something that is brand new so ill see.. worst case i guess i can always just mount the sub anmp in the engine compartment like i have seen done and just wire everythign back there..

yea i know.. the idea of running 2 amps is killing me lol. trying to figure out if i can fit 2 amps and then having to wire one somewhere else and run it all around is just giving me a headache.. although i have to admit i just dont think things through.. i knew i didnt want to run 2 amps yet i purchased everythign for 2 amps anyway.. then i was thinking i would just buy the alpine 600 watt amp and stack them but for the money it will cost to buy the 600 amp i can just put an extra 50 and get the pdx-5m and then just try and sell off the alpine i already have.. right now with the idea of wiring 2 amps im just wanting to slit my wrists lol.. iv done car audio and while i get the job done in the end i just have a headache and not happy.. and being the first boat audio install i didnt want to drive my self crazy or worry the boat wouldnt be able to handle the power and i mess something up.. so im thinking about just grabbing the pdx-5m and selling the original one.. iwas just nervous i would never get what i paid but even if i sell it for only 300 it still saves me money i guess... i mean i am saving alot.. a guy i know that deals with alpine is hooking me up with the pdx-5m for 380 which is 40 cheaper then ebay which has them for 420..
