Had the ski out yesterday and had a great time. My sons and daughters were all taking turns riding as well as the wife and I. I was going to go out for one last ride before we headed back to dock and it would not start. Then one of my sons tells me he had flipped earlier in the day but turned it over the corr3ect way and we had been riding it long after he did it. Got it home and rear cylinder has 0 compression. I guess it could be water injestion, but it also has 274 hours on it, although at the start of the season both cylinders were at 130.
I have rebuilt a 1999 Yamaha 1200 in the past, but I had a guy I was friends with on the riva forum basically hold my hand and walk me through it the entire time. I really do not think I have the expertise to do this rebuild unless someone wants to fill his shoes and take me under their wing to do it.
What are my other options? Looks like an SBT motor would be about $1200.00. Back when I did the Yamaha, they did not have a real good reputation, has it improved? Is there anybody on the site that rebuilds them that may be a better option for me?
I am at a loss as to what to do at this point, not to mention being really bummed out!
