Whats popoff pressure

I was asking a tech a few questions I told him I cleaned my carbs, and he about shit himself when I told him i didn't do a pop off test, I sid I have never heard of one, he justed laughed. he told me you cannot rebuild the carbs without doing one. anyone have any input

you can rebuild them/overhaul the carbs, as long as you dont "replace" the little n/s springs, from inside the carbs, with the ones, that are supplied with the rebuild kit.
