I have heard that the challenger 180 (year 06 to present) with the 215HP motor is underpowered. i am looking to mainly tube, kneeboard, ski and only a little wakeboarding. does anyone agree with that it might struggle with a mix of adults/kids on the boat ?

am new to the boating world, but like the rotax engines on the skidoos so i want to stick with BRP vs the yamaha line.

thanks,

Considering what you are going to do with it I would recommend going with a stern drive. Many because of the rough wake behind that boat that leave skiers, wakeboarder's and tubers wanting to stop and get back on board. If you watch any Sea Doo videos you can see what I am talking about. Another bad thing is the spray they leave which feels like being shot with a paintball guy hundreds of times. You can get a nice Stingray, Glastron, Bayliner, Larson, Chaparral, Tahoe and many more brands for a lot less money and create a much more skier, wakeboarder and tuber friendly wake.
