I hope somoene can offer some advice or where to start.

My ski was having some problems, changed fuel lines etc tested it out, still not running right, but it was at least rideable. it would only bog down alot when i just get going.

anyways...the trim quit working so I purchased one of the "trim fix" units.. I installed this and tested the trim and it was working just fine. I did not however start the ski after installing, only had the key on to test the trim.

I did not ride for probably 4 weeks or so. In that time, not sure if this matters or not, it has seem to have gotten really hot/humid compared to before. unlikely that that affected anything this much but just incase..

Anyways, i went to ride today and it wouldnt start.. crnaked over a bit until my battery died.

put another battery in and finally got it going. it will idle for a second.. die if you give it gas. if you choke it will idle, then want to die, then yout ake choke off and it will stay running, and it kind of just repeats that... but i have not gotten it to stay running.

plugs are good.. has plenty of gas tried reserve and on, grey lines are gone, and it was running prior to this, never had problems starting or running, especially out of the water.

the only thing i did to install the trim fix was disconnect the (i blieve 5) wires for the gauge/controls/motor/power .. so that shoudlnt have effected this anyways

anyone have any clue how it could have broke itself while sitting in the garage???? it smelled kind of funny to me near the engine.. not sure how to describe but it didnt smell normal to me. maybe moisture somewhere? idk.. im lost. .plz help i want to enjoy the rest of summer~!!!

Sorry.. its a 97 XP.... yes the carbs/filters were cleaned. removed the original sperator and installed an inline filter..

thanks for your help guys

have you ever changed the rotary valve, or maybe the previous owner? also make sure you have good spark, and i would also check your compression.
