what rpms do you guys get out of your xp 787 stock?

Will running a little rich also kill a couple hundred RPMs? Since I lost a motor, I opened the HS a little. I also am sitting at around 6700 on my skis. .............

Yep. AND... if you are excessively rich... all you are doing is sending un-burnt fuel out the exhaust. In turn... you build heat in the exhaust, and the edge of the piston crown.

Being properly tuned makes the most power, and is the safest on the engine.

I've been getting 6,900 - 7,200 (limiter kicks in as well), and that's on a 96' GTX.

YUP< I get 7K from my 96 GTX also....after Dr Honda cleaned/rebuilt the carbs and I adjusted the cable a bit tighter.

I have a leak there, so what's the fix? New rave valve? I'm not getting rpms under load however fine in the trailer so I was following this thread, now I'm getting nuts! Help please!!

Well put the ski in the water and looked at the water regulator and sure enough it was leaking. I just ordered one so hopefully this will fix my problem

i noticed a drop in rpm also this year my ski was hovering around 7k and now its around 6700 to 6900 range with about 40hours since I mashed a pile of used parts together I going to take some advice from this thread and comp test it maybe play with carb settings a bit this weekend. thanks for the post got me thinking:grouphug:

I was just thinking and can someone tell me why the water regulator if bad will result in Loss of rpm/ what is its function?

Hmm this thread has me thinking there is something off on my XP now.

I have a 96 with rossier pipe, novi carbs and only get about 6800 ish.
