Just not having the best of luck lately I guess. I tried calling there a few times yesterday but nobody answered. Might have been closed for the holiday, or just really busy I suppose.

Looking into opening an account. I am always rebuilding something with these skis so it makes sense. I have been purchasing most of my parts at my local dealer as it was a little better pricing. Only problem is they are 25 minutes away. Much rather order everything from one place & save the trip if I can get the same pricing. I am sure they don't offer accounts for one time buyers. Not much in it for them that way.
I have an account with my local arctic cat dealer too. he gives me great pricing on everything, including oil. But in fairness, I have been buying Cat stuff for about a decade or so from him.

I put in an inquiry

I started with a big one time buy, but got hooked on the 21% discount and free shipping and no tax and keep going back for more. If I order on a Friday I get it by the following Friday. And when Jen was the her customer service was over the top.

Jen has helped me in the past too. I think you referred her to me last year? Anyway, getting the account setup now, but It sounds like it will take a few days, so I might miss out on the free shipping...... :(

They should be able to do it over the phone so you can get the lower price and free shipping. She did my first order that way, but I didn't get free shipping she only charged me like $20 to ship the crank. She also would give me free shipping if she could when they weren't running the deal on my other orders.

Going back to the O.P., I was looking closer at the crank I have here, & I think I realize why it looks so good. I think it is a rebuilt unit. But, by who I don't know. oddly It has two different style rods. One has oiling holes on the small end, one does not. I'll look closer to see if there is any identifying numbers, or stampings & post them.

What did you decide? I called back today and ordered cage less wrist pin bearings what a deal he gave me dealer wanted 45 a piece he gave them to me for 15 a piece

It took them forever to give me my $200 core. I use Andy since Jen left and he chased it down for me. I am gonna get some cageless bearings coming myself for a couple 787's.

That DI crank did sell. Somebody's gonna throw an engine together with that and call it "rebuilt"

Andy said I should have it within a couple days of them receiving it. Ya I have decided that I am never using caged bearings on a seadoo again.

I am still waiting to get setup for pricing. Have all of the requested info submitted to SHS, but not sure how long it takes? $45 for that bearing is crazy. I could see $45 for the pair maybe. $15-20 each sounds about right.

Funny you mention the pin bearings. This 951 had WSM pistons with caged needles. While they are fine in 580's & 720's, I was surprised to see them in a 951. Pretty much half of the contact surface comparatively.

This engine I am going through now was called "rebuilt" by the PO. As soon as I hear that word from a seller, It's a negative in my book. I think there are probably less than 10% of people that actually know what they are doing when they dig into engines in general. So, instead of calling them rebuilt, they should be called "tampered with"

Sorta like the donor ski I bought guy said it ran great just had a exhaust leak lol ya it ran had compression but when I tore into it what a mess they only had 3 bolts holding the mag cup on the rear cylinder had been seized and the crank had 3 bad bearings.

WOW, list they're only $19.99, I guess your local dealer was trying to smoke you. I'm all for local business but with gouging like that it's hard keep going back and not be forced to shop online.

I got a 787 crank years back from PPG, I waited so long for my core refund I almost started collecting social security. It literally was 6 or 7 months. After that I never used them again, it only takes me once to get screwed and move on to somewhere else wiling to take my cash but give me good customer service. The problem I found out with them was they wait until they have a skid load of cores to return to BRP then they ship that back and get their money from BRP. When I bought the one from Jen @ SHS I knew in advance that this might happen and asked her several times on WHEN I would get my core refund back. She told me that as soon as they receive my core they will settle up on the core. I tracked the shipment everyday. At the end of the day they received it I called and she had already refunded my money, had my PTO off and shipped it back for free and didn't charge me for anything(I forgot to remove it before I broke the engine down). All I can say is just stay on top of the core and make a phone call.
