Hello to all

So I have a GTX Wake NA 2005

I got a new pump and impeller for it got the solas 11/19

But I am at 7300 Feet above sea level thin air here what impeller should I get for this altitud ????

and what mods can I do to get a little more power from it

Thanks again to all for your help

Have a nice day

The 155 engine is VERY expensive to get any real increase. The one thing that is not to expensive is a Cold Air Intake.

As far as impellers go, unless you mod your engine so that you can increase not only the RPMs, but also the actual performance, there is little you can do.

If you get an impeller that will give you a better low end out of the hole performance, you will lose top end speed. And, if you get one for a better top end, you will lose on the bottom end. The one exception to this is a Skat impeller. It is bent in such a way that you will get a better bottom end and sometimes 1 to 2 MPH on the top end.

Also, if you add a Top-Loader grate, which forces more water to the impeller, unless you have improved the engine, then the top loader adds drag that the engine can not over come. You will actually slow the ski down. To get any real additional performance from the 155 you need to spend near 2-grand...

In your case, you could get a different impeller which will allow you to get closer to the correct max RPM's, but I am not sure if it would help on the bottom end as the impeller would have to be such that it has less of a drag to get more RPM's. So, less drag in my opinion would equate to less performance..

So if I understand what you are saying there is nothing to do???

Minimal with a stock engine. But the Skat will help you across the board. A bit on the bottom end and on the top end. So in your case due to your elevation, I would get the Skat impeller...

And the cold air intake will help.. But you are fighting a hard battle...

Probably the most economical way for you to go faster will be to sell your 155 ski and get a 215hp. Not much in the way of performance mods for a 155. They made a wake 215 back in 06 I think if you like the wake option. The difference in performance is night and day, but with speed comes sc maintenance.

At that altitude, you're going to have trouble getting good performance out of anything.

that i understand
selling is not that easy to be honest i will try but for the moment any recommendations on the impeller and i mean the pitch of the impeller

lets say for sea level the 10/21 is great but since i am high up in the mountain and looking at the power loss i can compensate a little helping the engine with a less pitch impeller the question is hoe less ???

10/17 or 9/16 what do you think could help i need a good running pwc to be able to sell it

I would ask other people on that same lake what they run and consult a marina on the lake. I have very little experience at optimizing performance for high altitude. I know when running snowmobiles in the mountains the drop in performance is drastic. On older models, it requires down jetting the carbs to just keep them running and overall performance is lackluster at best.

Does it run properly at or near sea level?
