As a newbie, I am not really clear on what is involved in winterizing my'skis. With the GTX 4Tec's and the GTI that I have, and living in Missouri, what is involved and is it necessary?

Thank you!

Yes, it's necessary, but we're not even going to mention it until next month, it's still summer.

I'm in Florida so no expert on the subject but the basics are to remove all water from the engine, fill the tank completely and add some fuel stabilizer, fogg the engine via spraying some fogginng oil into the cylinders with spark plugs removed.. lastly is remove the battery and store in a warmer place.. ie don't let the batt remain in sub-freezing temps for to long... I think those are the basics of winterizing... I'm sure one of the experts from the great white north will chime in with official step by step!

Amen and Hallelujah on the "we won't even discuss this until next month"! I have been an owner for all of about 6 weeks and am still trying to cram as much 'ski time with the family in as possible before we have to shut it down for the season.

Thank you for the replies, and I will be looking for those tips "next month"!!!!

Wise man. LOL

If you are FORCED to shut them down early then we can address it.

Have fun while summer is here.

Well, not my house because there is little space . But my grandma has a house with 1/2 acre of land with 7 mango trees that are about 100 years old. At least. And 5 minutes away from the boat ramp. You are all welcome to come on down

Just a shout out to all members who have taken time to reply. Great forum, great members, great information. It has become the highlight of my day to check the forum and read the comments!

Thank you again!

best answer is to check your owners manual or shop manual for the winterization procedure, but don't check it until next month

Way back when I was single I kept my motorcycle in the living room, the bike was probably the cleanest thing in the apartment. BTY my Dad owned the building.
