I found a pipe on eBay for 717, 657 and 580's that supposedly adds 12 hp and I wondered if this thing was worth the trouble or just a pipe dream. If it's the real deal what are the costs of using it? Will it work on single carb setups (I'm guessing no) and would there be other mods needed to use it? How does it affect longevity?

Westcoast made the OEM pipes; If you have a machine with a removable cone its essentially the same.

If you were putting it on say a 92ish SP...its quite a performance upgrade.

The 717 takes alot of mods to get an increase in performance with a huge decrease in life. I would recommend leaving it stock and find a 787 machine to mod up.

That's a stocker right there, Westcoast made the pipes for Seadoo, IIRC. My 96 XP has WPP cast into it. Keep your ducketts in your wallet.
